Our paddles are usually 7 - 8 miles long. Please confirm that you are a strong paddler who has a great deal of experience kayaking. Our paddles try to provide aerobic exercise, so we paddle at a good clip and do not stop for about 3.5 - 4.0 miles.

I have paddled on Cape Cod and in Florida for many years...mainly rivers, creeks and marshes where houses are not in view for most of the paddle. I am on the water twice a week all year long.

How many miles can you comfortably paddle? You need to be able to paddle 7-8 miles at a good speed with only one short break, in order to paddle with us. Sometimes, we are not able to get out of our boats for that break.

2-3 hours seems ideal.....7-8 miles is good unless it is windy. Only paddle sheltered creeks when it is windy.

We encourage people to join just to walk with us. No need to have a dog. Guests are always welcome on our walks. Do you plan to walk with us? If so, will you bring your dog?

I have 2 German Shepherds, but now neither of them are able to do the walks. But, I'd like to see your dogs on the walks that allow dogs : )

Have you read and do you agree to the Waiver of Liability ? You need to answer that you have read the waiver and do agree with it.

I have read it and agree to it.

Please read the description of the group carefully. If you do not apply as an individual, you will not be accepted. No guests on paddles ever. After a second "no show", a person is automatically dropped from the group.

Want to continue meeting active people who enjoy paddling, walking, birding, dogs, and organic gardening. I lead birding trips for Venice Audubon, Sarasota Audubon and at Oscar Scherer SP and organize 2 Meetups on Cape Cod for kayaking & walking.

What Joyce is saying about this Meetup Group

Just had the last paddle today... until next October. This season went really well...lots of paddles and lots of really fun people to kayak with. I stopped posting dog-friendly walks because no one was RSVPing...may try again next fall/winter. Have a great summer and I'll see you in the fall. Joyce.
