The free, inaugural Trinity River Wind Festival will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from noon until 6 p.m. at Trammell Crow Park, 3700 Sylvan Avenue in Dallas. (Map (http://mapq.st/jtfkLS))
The Wind Festival will feature show kite teams from across the country, hot air balloons and native birds from the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center.
Plus, at 4:30 p.m., Steve Martin will present the "Soar" bird show (as seen at the Dallas Zoo Amphitheater). This will be followed by a Dallas Wind Symphony concert.
The only event of its type in the U.S. Southwest, everyone is invited to bring their family and friends to fly a kite, watch the spectacular show kites and enjoy other wind driven toys or crafts at the Trinity River Wind Festival.
The Trinity River Wind Festival is sponsored by Reliant Energy and the City of Dallas.
We will be onsite with kayaks along with REI. Come out and join the fun!
