It's a no-drop road ride with stop and wait locations along the way. We will be out there for 15 to 22 miles. Cyclists on this ride are usually of the 14 mph to 16 mph average in this land of hills and humidity. Go faster than that if you want to. It is slower than competitive cycling yet faster than neighborhood meandering. With the stops, consider it 2 hours of cycling.
The easiest bike to ride for this is a road bike. Cyclocross and some athletic hybrids are ok.
Aviation Park is at the corner of Barrett Lakes Blvd and Cobb Place Blvd. Free parking, water, restrooms and tables under a canopy.
RSVP is not necessary. We were attending the defunct Performance Bicycle meetup for years without hardly anyone using RSVP. It's mostly because we decide if we want to go on a group ride right before the start time.
The start time is set at 10:00 am for the rest of winter. When spring begins in March, we can move it up to 8:00 or 9:00.
Be in good cardio and physical heath for two hours of road cycling. Wear a helmet. Bring water bottles, nutrition, flat repair supplies, tube, potentially important documentation such as driver's license or insurance cards.
