We will use circuits, supersets and various combinations of exercises, tempo, repetitions, sets and rest periods to develop your muscular strength, power and endurance. You dont need a gym membership or previous experience so get ready to break a sweat!

You can practice various yoga positions to create a more optimum range of motion, and achieve better alignment and symmetry in your body. These exercises will help improve your posture and flexibility.

Mobility, Posture and Balance Class Only £5.00

The Kensington Studio

Could your posture and movement patterns be improved? Learn how to move better, improve your posture and reduce muscle imbalances. Does your body have more aches, pains or recurring injuries than you would like? This is more likely to occur if you sit for long periods at a desk or if you keep repeating the same movements at work or in sport without some counterbalancing movement or alignment. The issues caused by this are exacerbated if you also have poor posture. Perhaps you are putting your body under stress when it has asymmetries or you are unable to stabilise your joints? Maybe you have sore knees because of a lack of mobility in your ankles and poor alignment of your knees. Perhaps you have a sore lower back because the joints that should be mobile-ankles and hips- are stiff and instead of absorbing much of the ground force from walking or running, they are transferring it straight through to your lower back which also has restricted movement. Move more freely and Feel Better We will work all the joints in the body through a fuller range of motion to increase flexibility and mobility. We will do specific stretches and exercises to improve your posture and alignment. There will be unilateral, and asymmetric movements to improve your stability and achieve better skeletal and muscular balance. We will also do self-myofascial release, which is a fancy term for self massage to release muscle tightness or trigger points. For this we will use foam rollers, and lacrosse balls. These trigger points can limit your movement and restrict circulation to the affected areas. Come to my 60 minute circuit class – a high intensity workout taught by a certified personal trainer- in an exclusive personal training studio in Kensington, just 5 mins from the high st. You will use a wide variety of exercises, body weight, free weights, and machines that will incorporate resistance, cardio and flexibility training to get you fitter, leaner and stronger. An excellent way to work out in a gym like environment without needing a gym membership. A great way to train if you dont feel like being outside, and want a full body workout. Stretching, Flexibility and Yoga Class Only £5.00

Would you like to be more flexible in your joints and less tight in your muscles? Regular stretching keeps muscles long, lean, flexible, strong, and healthy. If you spend a lot of time looking down staring at your phone you can develop a forward head posture and rounded shoulders placing a lot strain on your spine. The exercises in this class will help improve your posture and flexibility, which will counteract the harmful effects of long periods of sitting down or staring at that screen. How symmetrical, balanced and aligned is your body? We all tend to move in a way that favours one side of our body. This can occur from writing, carrying your bag habitually with one arm, or crossing your legs more often on one side of your body. Even simple things you do every day at home like eating, brushing your teeth and sleeping position can have a big effect on your posture. When performing routine tasks at work, or repetitive movements on the sporting field, where one side of your body gets used more than the other, it is easy to get out of alignment unless you do something that counter balances this. It is important to make it a habit to stretch on a regular basis to stay aligned and maintain a good range of motion. If you don't you may develop imbalances and find certain muscles getting short and tight, whilst others become lengthened and/or weakened. This increases the risk of getting injured and experiencing joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. This class will use movement, breathing and holding different types of stretches for different time periods to reduce tightness in your muscles and joints. We will do static and dynamic stretches and use (PNF) proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. We will practice various yoga positions to create a more optimum range of motion, and achieve better alignment and symmetry in your body. We live in a world where people are becoming more stressed out more often. People are not always getting sufficient amounts of quality sleep, exercise or nutrition. Most people are unable stop their mind from thinking, planning and trying to solve problems. Some people spend excessive amounts of time feeling guilt or shame from the past events or have fear over what may happen in the future. They find it a struggle to be present, aware, and experience joy and peace in this moment. In this class you will learn and practice meditative techniques.
