This is a group for female entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. The goal is to network and support each other as we grow our businesses and or make the decision to start a business. Sharing knowledge, skills and advise will be key elements to this group and we'll meet monthly at a locally owned female run business in Lancaster County.
Podcast as an online community builder
In this KICKASS session, Heather Teysko will discuss how an entrepreneur can use the online engagement from a podcast to translate to real-world sales and revenue streams through community building and engagement tricks.
ABOUT HEATHER - Writer, Storyteller, & Adventurer
Heather Teysko is originally from Lancaster, though she has lived in London, New York, Los Angeles, and now is living in Spain. In 1998 she created her first website, on Colonial American history, and has been working on finding the magic formula for monetizing a passion-based blog ever since.
After building a professional career around online services in libraries (most recently as the Assistant Director of California's largest library consortium where she created the world's first shared library-owned open source eBook platform) she left her job in 2015 to pursue her dream of monetizing her popular podcast on Tudor History.
After spending several years trying, failing, experimenting, and seeing what works, she has now found a formula that consists of live events (both virtual and in person with the world's first Tudorcon coming to Lancaster in October!) and eCommerce.
Her podcast has received over 2 million downloads, and she runs several active communities on Tudor history online.
She is now branching into working with other creative entrepreneurs to help them monetize their own passions because the world needs more people doing what they love. She recently founded the Passionista Academy, an online membership academy filled with courses ranging from eCommerce to Instagram training, taught by Heather and other experts in their field.
Bring a snack or drink to share and come enjoy a wonderful event with women from around the region.
