Participate in an Emergency Simulation
Hello Everyone, Hello, my name is Tammy Ingram and I'm with C.E.R.T. and seeking volunteers for this year's Simulation Event being held on Saturday, October 27th. If you are interested in participating with us this year, please send an email to me at [masked] to be added to the confirmed volunteer list. (If you have already reached out to us within the last few weeks, we have you on the confirmed volunteer list). A few things to keep in mind for our volunteers: All ages are welcome, but anyone under 18 MUST have a parent/legal guardian or if they are part of a troop the responsible adult for the group present. That person(s) must be onsite for the entire exercise until the minor volunteers are released. They cannot be dropped off and picked up later. All will need to sign the waiver - parents will sign for their kids even if the responsible adult is the troop leader on the day of the exercise. We still need the parental consent for each child. Once we get our final confirmed list, we will email the waiver so it can be printed off, signed and brought with you. (Or you may sign the waiver at the simulation, however, any child not with a parent or legal guardian that day, must already have the signed waiver by the parent or legal guardian or else they will not be able to participate.) Volunteer instructions will be sent out a couple of weeks ahead of the simulation to all confirmed. If a child is with a troop or group where they accumulate service hours, if they want to provide the volunteer form to us, we will be happy to sign off. We welcome any groups/troops that would like to get a few more hours to help us clean-up. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reply to me at this email [masked] or text me at[masked]. On behalf of C.E.R.T., we thank you in advance for your interest in volunteering to help make this year's simulation a success. Looking forwarding to meeting and working with you in the coming weeks. Sincerely, Tammy Ingram [masked][masked]

What we're about

This is a MeetUp for parents of older kids who are looking for more social and educational opportunities for their kids. Our kids are kind of independent but they may or may not be not old enough to go it alone. Let's find ways to get them out of the house and interacting and learning and socializing with other kids.

Appropriate age range is probably 11-17 for the kids. But it's up to you and your kids to make the final age determination. Interests should be computers, MineCraft, modding, dinosaurs, paleontology, science, space, Scouting, drawing, painting, sculpture, cycling, hiking and geocaching and much more. The goal is provide opportunities for kids to meet other kids with similar interests to develop connections and friendships. At times we will be working on educational goals and/or merit badges. At other times, we will just have fun.

Ideally everyone should live in Collin county but that is not mandatory.
