I may go to this event, but am not certain, so am putting this down without a host for information. Please RSVP if you intend going, so others can see there will be someone from the group there. As far as I know, there is no entry fee - food will be for sale and drinks can be bought at the bar in the Ukrainian Club. It will probably finish around 5.30 to 6.
Children are welcome.
On Sunday, May 19th, the Ukrainian Club is hosting a charity Craft Fair starting at 11.00am and continuing until about 4.00pm.
From 3.30pm, we will have set up two large marquees on the lawns of the club. In one of these, we will be again serving tasty Brosters beefburgers and hot dogs with a variety of their best sausages. There'll also be cakes and buns for sale. In the other marquee, there will be live music throughout the afternoon and early evening.
Confirmed acts include Nick Granata, a young singer/songwriter who will play some covers and also some original work. If we're lucky, his brother Luke may also join him.
A treat for classical music fans will be provided by Jamal Rahman, a young baritone with Huddersfield Youth Opera. He delighted an audience of 15,000 with a performance of the Toreadors Song, from Bizet's Carmen and is a terrific and dynamic performer, not to be missed.
We were hoping to have Roger Davies - a very well known and talented local folk singer but unfortunately he had a prior booking. However he put us in touch with Alex Quinn & the Man in the Street, a very talented local band and we are delighted to say that they have agreed to perform for us.
We will have lots of things for the children to do as well.
