CRAFT DETAILS: "Me" Boards highlight the things that mean a lot to you. Sherry will supply 9x12" boards and the Mod Podge needed to make them, and you supply images of things you would like on your board, such as photographs, certificates, quotes, magazine pictures or short articles, even small, lightweight objects.
Sherry is bringing loads of stickers we can choose from, and you can narrow the focus by doing a theme board representing a favorite holiday or pastime (if you choose). The finished boards are fairly lightweight and can be hung on the wall or displayed on a tabletop or desk.
OR, if you prefer a "Me" keepsake box, you can bring a shoebox to cover and decorate to keep small, special items in. Like the "Me" board, please bring any special paper or things you would like to use to decorate it.
Another choice would be to bring a three dimensional alphabet letter representing your initial. You can usually find these at Michael's or JoAnn's in paper mache, cardboard or wood.
COST: $7.50 per board or $5 if you bring a shoebox or letter.
WHAT TO BRING: Please read the craft details above for a description of what you will need. Also bring cash to cover your share of supplies and something yummy to share for the potluck lunch.
Please Note: This craft requires some advance planning and gathering by you. Start collecting your items ASAP. You may want to use copies of photos, etc. as these will be adhered to your project.
IMPORTANT: Please RSVP responsibly-- class sizes are limited and Craft Leaders purchase supplies based on expected attendence. Thanks!!
-----------------------------------------Come join the fun at Third Saturday Crafts! We create something new and different each month by learning from each other!
Once a month, we gather to learn and/or teach new crafts and skills, share ideas, and visit with each other over a yummy potluck lunch. Projects, details, pricing, and craft leaders vary from month to month, and project to project.
Members take on the role of Craft Leader when they choose a craft project and volunteer to take the lead in teaching the rest of us how to create it. Craft Leaders present and teach their craft, and decide on that day's details, including craft cost (if any), number of attendees, and what tools and/or supplies people should bring.
We generally have a lot of fun and have created some great projects! Our group meets on the third Saturday of every month from 12 - 4 PM in the Community Room at The Pearl on Oyster Bay (Cheryl's place). Bring your ideas!!
