What we're about
KEEN believes in lifelong-learning and provides informal educational opportunities open to the community for kids, adults, and seniors. We host events, lead regular field trips, and are working to establish an interpretive center. Kids must always be accompanied by a responsible adult to attend any family-friendly event posted on Meetup.
Our regular events include our Second Sunday Nature Walk, which occurs - you got it! - on the second Sunday of each month at Helen McCabe State Park. The Second Sunday Nature Walk is always free to attend.
E3 expo will be held for the 8th year on January 28th, 2017. Come learn about local environmental practices and shop with local vendors who use sustainable practices.
Get Intimate with the Shrub Steppe will be held for it's 18th year on May 13th, 2017. This event showcases the natural shrub steppe that we live in through expert-led field trips. GISS is based out of Helen McCabe State Park.
Bird Fest is a new event this year and will coincide with GISS at Helen McCabe State Park, running from May 12-14th, 2017. Stay tuned for upcoming details on this event!
