Kiwanis Croydon Is the local club of Kiwanis International www.kiwanis.org. Kiwanis is a service and social club. It’s is a membership organisation with an annual membership fee. Membership is made up of persons of business and professionals. Kiwanians have the welfare of children and young people and work towards improving the lives of children and young people in our community and abroad. Kiwanis started in 1915 and it is a worldwide organiasation Examples of projects we have done so far- Book event for homeless shelter in Thornton Heath, Photographic exhibition to fundraiser £1000. Donated to Croydon young carers, took our a group of children in foster care to the theatre- Aladdin at Catford Broadway theatre. We have started a project with The Dolly Parton Immagination Library. This project provides books to children monthly, giving each child the opportunity to read more, be more and have the opportunity to improve the life chances. Kiwanis local clubs works predominantly for the local community and it also undertakes worldwide project . The current worldwide service project with UNICEF . Kiwanis clubs worldwide raise funds to vaccinate girls and women of child bearing age also for newborn to Eliminate Tetanus . Tetanus kills 60.000 newborn and 30.000 Mother’s annually. Kiwanis is for you if you believe that the lives of the less privileged can be improved.
