Hi all. Some of you may miss the good old beer from New Zealand - not so much the lighter draughts, but some of the others. I've brewed a few batches of various New Zealand beers and my favorite is my version of Speights Old Dark. There's a place in Sellwood - Portland U-Brew and Pub. 4 to 6 of us can go in on a 15 gallon batch together. The cost is about $190 total, so bottom line is about $1.20 per 12oz bottle - you'd get 25-40 bottles depending on how many people we have. I'll cap it at 6 people, as space at the brewery is tight. This is a full afternoon brewing - 11:30am-5pm, and is the entire brewing process - milling grains, mash, sparge, boil etc. The beer is ready for drinking/bottling 3 to 4 weeks after the brew, at which time you can either bring your own bottles or buy new ones there.
