Let's do some indoor climbing on Friday night! If you haven't climbed before, I'd be happy to show you how to don the gear, tie the knots and belay a climber.
Onsight Rock Gym has over 12,000 square feet of climbing wall surface with walls soaring over 50 feet tall. Top roping, lead climbing, and bouldering are all available.
It's $15 to climb and $8 for a gear package with harness, shoes, belay device and chalk bag. I have one extra harness and a couple of pairs of shoes somebody can use. If you buy a 10-pass, it's only $13.50 per visit.
If you haven't climbed before, I recommend that you watch these two videos before the meetup:
How to tie in with a figure eight knot
How to use a grigri belay device
You can practice the knot with a piece of rope at home, maybe even tie it to your belt loop as if you were wearing a harness.
