Real Talk Atlanta: A Monthly Roundtable Discussion on Current Events

  • to
  • This location is shown only to members

  • One of the new agendas for the group is start more conversation amongst members. We all have different opinions, backgrounds, and experiences and sometimes it's good to express yourself in that regard with your peers if you don't find the opportunity to do that already. So we're going to start a once per month roundtable discussion on current issues. There so many things constantly going on in the world that can truly enlighten us if we were more informed or had the time and/or encouragement to learn about them. So that's the purpose of this, to bring together us "black folk" and just share our opinions on various things that include:

    • Politics

    • Technology

    • Finance

    • Black Issues

    • International Affairs

    • Local

    • Music

    • Science

    • Arts

    • and the list goes on....

Now just to be clear this is not for discussing the latest episode of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta or Last week's Grey's Anatomy. Nor will we be talking about celebrity gossip or gossiping about other people in general.

We'll choose 5 topics to discuss at each monthly roundtable (Please submit anything you want to discuss to [masked] or via the comments section for each monthly meeting). The discussion agenda will be distributed approximately 1 week before the meetup via email. Please try to research or get some type of context to bring to the meetup on the topics (Opinions mixed with facts is great !).

The only rules are the following:

    1. Please respect everyone's opinion (even if you don't agree with it)

    2. No selling (Save your sales pitch)

    3. No spectator only folks (You can't just "listen" the whole time)

    4. No show policy (Meetups are limited to 25 people. If you are on the list and are a no-show without changing your RSVP you'll be banned from the next 2 discussions).

Join or login to comment.
