Stews, Soups, and other stuff at Ham Hung Restaurant!

Now that the weather is FINALLY sliding into Fall, I am craving lovely cold weather Korean food.

Ham Hung is a family restaurant in Koreatown tucked into a strip mall on Olympic, across from the Hankook Sauna.  The nearest cross streets are Olympic and Harvard.

They serve lots of soups, stews, and other yummy home cooking type dishes that your mother would cook for you on a cold night if she were Korean.

There is also a "sale" on hand-rubbed short ribs. We will be getting a couple of orders, as well as the Korean Soup Superstars--Sul Lung Tang, Yuk Kae Jang, Duk Mandoo Gook, Woo Ger Jee Galbi Tang and Kimchi Chigae.

No shows will NOT be tolerated.

Please note that this event is Family Style. We will be sharing all dishes and everyone pays equally if they eat or not. If you have a problem with this, you may want to pass this one up.

By the way, No shows will NOT be tolerated.

Please bring about $30 in small bills, if possible.

..and did I mention that No shows will NOT be tolerated.

Hope to see you there!

And lest you forget...No shows will NOT be tolerated.

Does anyone remember the name of the "pork-gogi" spicy pork - was it #28, Due Ji Bul Gogi? Also, did they ask re: a spice level, or did you specify? I'd like to go there again, but wouldn't know what to order. (I still drool when I think re: Ham Hung! :)

I don't know what number but Yes! Dueji Bul gogi is correct. sometime you add "Mae eun"(spicy) Dueji Bulgogi. if spice was ok you don't need to ask them to adjust it. If we go there again, I'm IN:)

One of these days I'll be able to snatch the pebble from masters hand and it will be time for me to pick up the red hot cookware with my forearms. Until then, I'll just continue to go to Andree's events.

Ham Hung's Naeng-myun with skate was mentioned in Jonathan Gold's article "60 Korean Dishes Every Angeleno Should Know"
