Park's BBQ

Back by popular demand... I've decided to have another Park's Meetup.... Park's is in the corner of the big mini-mall on the western side of Vermont Boulevard, and the cross street is Olympic.

There is valet parking for $2.00. Street parking is kind of iffy....but if you want to chance finding a space, give it a try and let us all know how easy/hard it is!

Here are some links to peruse:

Park's

Park's at Menupages

Yelp, of Course

We will be ordering family style; if you are picky or if you don't eat pork, then you may want to sit this one out.

*Tokyo X: a hybrid of Duroc (USA), Berkshire (UK), and Beijing Black (China) pig breeds, known for its marbled meat and delicious flavor....

I think I’ve done the Tokyo X thing to death…. I am still going to order some ( I think) but I’d like to try some other things on the menu. I have my eye on Jun Gol (a stew with beef and octopus), the trusty spicy black cod, the kimchi pancake, and a few other things.

Park’s is not AYCE and the price is a little higher than most places in K-Town, but I will try to keep the total under $35.

Great food, they're tough on banchan refills tough, and it's smoky and noisy in there - unexpectedly so, in fact. Had a great time and looking eagerly forward to the next visit. I think Soowon maybe just has an overall edge here but need more visits to both places to nail this point of competition down.

Excellent meat - the best I've ever had. Nice banchan - especially Jap Chae.

I'm game. The ggot sal is one of the dishes I haven't had yet.

I'm voting to try Wagyu Ggot Sal $59 and Special Pork Belly $26 (choice of marinated or not). With 6 people, 2 orders of each works out to around $35-$37 including tax/tip. Fill up on banchan to cover any gaps.

Park's "Pork Belly" is $26 so I'm doubting it's still "Tokyo X" which would cost more, this quote from Chowhound, when it says "used to be" I think it means "took the menu spot of"... : 'While they get their meat from the same supplier, I prefer Don Dae Gam's Black Pork Belly, over Park's current "Pork Belly" (what used to be their "Tokyo X Style Pork Belly"). It seems richer and brighter here. Either way, this Black Pork Belly is definitely the fattiest, most filling cut of Pork on the menu."
