KOBAWOO HOUSE = Bossam [set menu]!

This event is a family style dining event.  It is not for you if you are picky about your food.

The menu is also mostly set in advance for this event based on an overwheming agreement on what is best to order - based on customer reviews.

What I've seen of the restaurant makes it look like the tables will fit at most 4 people, so this will be a small event.

We will be ordering the following items:

  • Dwue Jee Bo Ssam (sliced pork belly with cabbage wraps, radish and daikon)
  • Jang Ban Guk Su (spicy acorn noodles)
  • Pajeon (pancake, we'll make a choice of kimchi, seafood, potato...)

Additional options for hungry people - and/or we have full attendance @ 4 people - or everyone doesn't want the acorn noodles and/or the pancake [but the bossam is non-negotiable :) ].

  • Doenjang Jigae (bean paste vegetable tofu soup)
  • Yook Gae Jang with Mandoo (dumpling soup)

I really enjoyed the dinner with Warren and Louis. I felt like I was at a job interview. LOL...inside joke! What we ordered was more than enough food for us. The restaurant always had a long wait list so you know the food is good. I love pork belly!

I think it's worth a return visit to try other stuff such as their soups, stews, and bulgogi. They also have a few weekday lunch specials from 11AM-3PM.

Thanks Warren for picking a great place. Kobawoo House is a unique Korean Restaurant. We enjoyed pork, noodles, potato pancakes (the best potato pancakes by far) and spicy banchan as you can see in the photos at http://www.meetup.com/Korean-Barbecue-Groupies/photos/all_photos/?photoAlbumId=1335844 . A definite must try! (We missed you Andree.)

    Shark tail? Um, no.

OK OK I admit it, as some of you might have guessed, at the actual time of the event we'll be flexible in what we order, my event description still is a *strong* recommendation of what to order. If we find that everyone really instead wants the shark tail sushi daily special served with sea slug sliders or whatever ;) , we will go with the majority rule.

Yeah, looks like a meal for 2 all by itself.
I've never had it before, might as well start somewhere.
