Hometown: The Colony
April 12, 2013
Yes. I studied abroad as Soonchunhyang University in Shinchang, South Korea in Spring 2011. I traveled extensively throughout the country and would like to return in the future.
Yes. I have watched many korean dramas and I do have some favorite KPOP groups that I follow, such as Big Bang and 2NE1. I am a casual kdrama watcher and kpop listener. I enjoy sageuk and romantic comedy dramas and became very interested in Korea, outside of Korean history, from watching dramas.
My favorite dish is kkongchijiggae (꽁치찌개), which is really hard to find outside of Korea. I am a huge fan of stews, various kimchi, dried seasoned squid (오징어채 무침) and much much more. Essentially if it is edible, no matter where in the world it is from, I am a huge fan. I cook and use Korean ingredients on a regular basis, and my fridge is not my fridge without kimchi in it. I would love to meet other people who share a passion for korean food.
Language learning of course, but also cooking, going to various museums, and also I am a huge fan of soccer. I have been playing for almost 20 years and if any other members would like to meet-up to play, I would be honored if I could join.
Howdy! My name is Alison and I am a recent graduate of Texas A&M University. I studied abroad in South Korea at Soonchunhyang University in Spring 2011 and would like to further improve my Korean language skills.
