Welcome to another Krakow Bitcoin Meetup! This time we are excited to announce that we will be joined by Ivan Liljeqvist, also known as Ivan On Tech, on livestream directly from Stockholm.
With well over[masked] subscribers, Ivan On Tech is one of the most popular YouTube channels in the cryptocurrency space, and it is no wonder the Belarus-born programmer has gained such a strong influence over the last 12 months: Since early 2017, Ivan has regularly posted highly educational videos on different aspects of cryptocurrencies, making even the technically illiterate feel like experts.
On Wednesday 25th of April, Ivan will join the Krakow Bitcoin Meetup on livestream to give a presentation about how to explore the blockchain and "observe" Bitcoin in real life.
There are several different blockchain explorers that allow you to navigate all of Bitcoin's history, but how do you make sense of it? What data is stored in a transaction? What is an input and an output? Why does one Bitcoin transaction sometimes show to be from multiple addresses or outputs?
Also, how anonymous is Bitcoin really? Exactly how would a blockchain analysis company such as Chainalysis go about tracking funds and connecting addresses to physical people? How could tools for tracking be developed in the future?
And finally, can blockchain explorers be trusted? Or is running your own full node the only way of verifying that transactions have taken place?
It is important that users of Bitcoin understand these aspects of the technology and are conscious of the fact that a Bitcoin transaction is for ever visible in the blockchain and how it could potentially be (mis)used in the future.
After the presentation, there will be a Q&A where everyone in the room can ask questions directly to Ivan.

This is an event for Bitcoin enthusiasts in the city of Krakow, Poland, held frequently.
The meetup is an informal setting in which to discuss Bitcoin and crypto. The purpose is to connect the brightest local crypto minds together and promote the interest for Bitcoin in Poland. The meetup also aims to provide educational value through presentations and workshops for people who want to learn more about Bitcoin. Even though this event is primarily about Bitcoin, you are of course permitted to mention other cryptocurrencies :) Newbies are of course welcome to come as well. Feel free to invite others if you know someone who might be interested in attending the event. Also, do get in touch if you want to have a talk or announcement at the event.
