Welcome to this year's second edition of the Kraków Bitcoin Meetup on Wednesday 13th of February!
This time we are going technical, and we will be talking about wallet security. We are very fortunate to have Piotr Dyraga from Akena to give an introduction to the concept of threshold signatures.
No clue what a threshold signature is? Don't worry, Piotr will explain in a manner that even beginners could understand.
For a general introduction to the concept, here is a good resource: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/threshold-signatures-new-standard-wallet-security-1425937098/
"In a threshold signature scheme, the ability to construct a signature is distributed among different devices (for example a computer and a smartphone), and each device receives a share of the private signing key. For individuals, threshold signatures allow for two-factor security, or splitting the ability to sign between two devices so that a single compromised device won’t put the money at risk. For businesses, threshold signatures allow for the realization of access control policies that prevent both insiders and outsiders from stealing corporate funds."
The presentation will be in English and last 20-30 minutes, followed by a Q&A. The second half of the meetup will be devoted to networking, as usual, and there will be free beer.
See you at Forklog on Wednesday 6pm!
