Krav Maga (pronounced “krahv mahGAH” - “contact combat” in Hebrew) is an effective, modern, and dynamic self-defense fighting system. It is designed to be practical and intuitive for both males and females of any shape or size. The techniques expands on your natural instincts to develop skills quickly and effectively, while enabling you to address attacks under any scenario. You will learn how to defend yourself and your loved ones, while increasing your fitness and honing your instinctive reflexes.
This unique self defense system was developed in the 1950s, combining the most effective techniques from various martial arts and fight training. It was originally taught to the Israeli Army, and instruction for civilians began in the late 70s.
No experience is necessary to begin Krav Maga. In the beginning you will learn basic stances, striking, techniques for falling and getting up safely, and basic defenses against common attacks including chokes and headlocks. In addition to learning how to deal with an attack, you will train to perform better under stress and learn (as time goes on) to be more aware of your surroundings, and prevent getting into problematic situations.
After mastering the basics as you progress, advanced students will be trained to counter weapons (dummy knives and guns) from attacks in roleplaying situations (standing up or on the ground).
Within 6-12 months of constantly attending our classes, you will be competent in knowing how to protect yourself wherever you go.
