- Kubernetes Disaster Recovery
Kubernetes Disaster Recovery with Velero It’s 3am. Your pager is beeping. Your Kubernetes cluster is down. Don’t panic! In this talk, I’ll describe a variety of disaster scenarios you may encounter. We’ll arm you with the knowledge you need to overcome them. Whether you’re a systems administrator, application developer, or end user, after this talk you’ll walk away with a thorough understanding of Kubernetes disaster recovery, including: • Strategies for Kubernetes • Which components to back up vs recreating from scratch • Back up and quickly restore your cluster applications, workloads, and persistent volumes using tools such as Heptio Velero. ** Please only RSVP if you are really coming so that we can know how much food to order. * What to bring Your PC. * Important to know Basic knowledge of kubernetes Agenda 6:00 - 6:30 Meets, greet and Eats. 6:30 - 7:15 Hands on on a k8s cluster on aws (Migrating a cluster with one master to multi-masters). 7:15 - 8:00 Kubernetes Disaster Recovery with Velero. 8:00 Questions w/ open discussion.
- Managing microservices with Istio Service Mesh
Plan: - First talk by @Rafik HARABI (45 minutes) Developing and managing hundreds (or maybe thousands) of microservices at scale is a challenge for both development and operations teams. We have seen over the last years the appearance of new frameworks dedicated to deliver ‘Cloud Native’ applications by providing a set of (out of box) building blocks. Most of these frameworks integrate microservices concerns at the code level. Recently, we have seen the emerging of a new pattern known as sidecar or proxy promoting to push all these common concerns outside of the business code and provides them on the edge by integrate a new layer to the underlying platform called Service Mesh. Istio is one of the leading Service Mesh implementing sidecar pattern. We will go during the presentation throw the core concepts behind Istio, the capabilities that provides to manage, secure and observe microservices and how it gives a new breath for both developers and operations. - Discussion and Pause cafe (30 Minutes) - 2nd talk by Naeil EZZOUEIDI Istion In Action: a demo about how to use/interact with Istio inside a k8s cluster.

- Kubernetes Introduction & Hands-on
This workshop is intended to let you familiar with Kubernetes basics, as a result you will be able to get your k8s cluster up and running. It will pave the path to become proficient in k8s. Objectives: - Understand the architecture of Kubernetes - Perform fundamental hands-on operations with Kubernetes objects - Deploy Kubernetes Minikube cluster on your local laptop This workshop/meetup is included in TuniHack event which will be held at ENSI. This is the program of all the event if you are interested to attend other workshops/conferences: http://tunihack.ossec.tn/#schedule
