What we're about

Welcome to Kubernetes Helsinki Meetup! We are the group for people interested in Kubernetes, an open source container orchestration technology from Google. We're excited about Kubernetes installers, distributions and hosted solutions, and solutions that deploy, manage, extend or run on top of them. Any skill level is welcome. We want to create an open, welcoming environment for all Kubernauts around Helsinki! Contact us if you are interested in speaking at or sponsoring the Meetup. We welcome content and demos from users and vendors.

What we'll cover:-

Kubernetes environments are complex, and require significant expertise to operate in production. With a multitude of cloud architectures and vendors, and Kubernetes distributions and DevOps tools, the ecosystem is vast and one size does not fit all. Building the required skill set can be time-intensive, and developers without any Ops experience may be daunted by the orchestration platform. The Stakater Boot Camp provides developers a strong foundation on getting started with Kubernetes. You will not only get familiar with the concepts of Kubernetes, but also get a chance to practice the concepts hands-on with a production-grade microservices application. In the boot camp we will work with the following topics:

* Introduction to Kubernetes
* How Kubernetes compliments Containers
* Deployments in Kubernetes
* Exposing services in Kubernetes
* Managing Configuration
* Scaling & updating Application
* Health Checks
* Persistent Storage
* Application Logs
* RBAC & Security
* Hands-on lab with an e-commerce app on IBM Cloud

Your meal is on us! Participants shall receive Wolt Gift Card credits to use as you wish, be it for breakfast or lunch of your choosing.

Please note: Submitting interest does not confirm a seat for the boot camp. Your application will move through an intricate yet swift evaluation process after which the selected applicants making a spot will receive an email invite to the event, after which they will need to confirm attendance via email. Joining information shall be shared via email.

Application criteria: Please make use of your work email address to register, failing to do so may result in automatic disqualification. Please ascertain whether you are already working on or are soon expecting to begin working on a Kubernetes or Docker project.
