Learn about Chinese martial arts and culture. We'll have opportunities to practice kung fu and tai chi and to learn about cultural activities like lion dance, calligraphy and more. All skill levels are welcome.
This special kung fu class is for children from 5 to 10. It includes an introductory lesson in Kung Fu, and we will teach some of the basics of Chinese Lion Dance. A child-size lion head is available for the kids to use along with drums, cymbals and a gong. An adult family member is welcome to join the class. FREE.
A bonsai hobbyist for more than 20 years, Kevin Kohler is the founder of Any Artist Can Create Bonsai Club that meets at AACC. His lecture, Transforming Trees: The Art of Bonsai, provides an introduction into the horticulture and training associated with creating and maintaining these amazing living sculptures that grow in pots, offering newcomers the essential information needed to have a more successful start in the art form.

Enjoy food, fun, and activities related to the Lunar New Year (decorate a pig-shaped cookie, make an origami pig bookmark & more). Chinese Lion Dance starts at 3:15pm, followed by demonstrations of kung fu and tai chi.
There also will be prizes and giveaways. Jing Ying’s annual silent auction for charity closes at 4pm, and there are awesome items available on which to bid. Bring your family and friends! FREE.
