Have you ever tried Kung Fu? Or any martial art? If so, what style and when?

I have twenty-eight years experience training in martial arts. Ten studying Okinawan Karate where I received two Blackbelts and eighteen studying and teaching Kung Fu, five of them spent in China. I have been teaching Kung Fu in NYC since 2003, for more info: www.NaturalStyleKungfu.com/instructors.html

What aspect exactly is your interest, Health, Art, Self Defense, all... or other?

All of them! Other styles might emphasize or be a sport, a military fighting system, choreographed art, or a healthful practice, and its all good, but for it to be a Traditional Chinese Martial Art, all 3 aspects must be present!

Tell us a little something about yourself, perhaps your professional field or if a student, your major or other interest and hobbies you may have. Members may find they have more in common than Kung Fu!

I freelance a bit as a Graphic Designer & Illustrator so I also like visiting museums and galleries, but mainly I teach Kung Fu both privately & in group classes. Love travel & languages (go to mainland China a lot) & besides Mandarin, I speak Spanish & a bit of Portuguese (Mama Huhu!). In NYC I also enjoyed riding my motorcycle! Cha bu duo ba!

Introduction

I arrived few years ago from New York City wanting to spend more time in China. Although I have lived & studied Kung Fu & Mandarin Chinese in Beijing & Fuzhou in the past, I think Hong Kong is a great middle ground between the mainland & the west!
