WHY I CREATED THIS GROUP There are a lot of people out there who want to improve their dance skills and feel more confident in themselves. However, most people are afraid to take dance lessons at a dance studio because it can be very intimidating. Being surrounded by professional dancers and people who seem to have their dancing on point can seem very daunting to the beginner. It also doesn't help that most studios cater to people who are either looking to have a career in dance or have a natural God given talent for dance. But what about the rest of the world? The everyday person with no dance skills that just wants to learn how to dance for fun; or the people that want to dance for the health and fitness benefits? What about the person who just wants to be able to go to their next party, look good and feel confident on the dance floor?
I created this group for that specific reason. This group is not for the professional dancer or aspiring choreographer. This is for the people that just want to learn some dance moves, get fit and have fun doing it. The classes are open level, so you don't need any experience or skills in dance, just a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZER I am a fitness professional and dancer with over 15 years of dance experience. From jazz and ballet training to college dance groups to background dancing for various artists, musical theater performances and even music videos. When it comes to dance, I've pretty much done it all. I'm here to share my love and passion for dance, help people become more comfortable in their own moves and empower them to feel confident, no matter how great their skills.
