We missed you George! Hope to see you in May!

    Awesome!

I enjoyed participating in a delightful, amusing play. (nerves aside!) My thanks to John for his writing talent and Henry for his capably directing.

    April 15, 2013

  • Elizabeth

Thanks for the opportunity to read -- the Bard and Tennessee in one day. A heady experience!

Next time I'll check the map before I make comments like that. Well, how about northwest...?
It's an hour and a half to LAX from here, but not a hard drive with light traffic. Sunday afternoons heading south from here shouldn't be too bad.
And my remark about identifying the group? It shouldn't be too hard to find in that building, I suppose.
    See you next time!

    April 14, 2013

  • Richard

Sorry, too long a drive today from Santa Barbara. Maybe you could move westward?

    April 14, 2013

    • Laura

Any further west and we will be swimming! Sorry, we're an LA group but hope you will make it to a meeting at some point.

Kudos to all the readers! Great artistry with a wide variety of roles, from Shakespeare to Tennessee Williams to...John Aaron! Can't wait until next time!

How about the Santa Monica Main Library...fairly centrally located for many folks? The Auditorium is used by many groups...and there are other public rooms.

I'm so sorry that I can't make it this week, everyone. I am directing a sketch comedy show at the iO West that goes up at 9pm tonight so my whole day is rehearsal for that. I'm standing up in my friend's wedding in May and I'll be out of town for some of it, too, so I probably won't see you guys until June. Have a great time today and next month!

    April 14, 2013

      We'll miss you, Kristina!

    Laura and company,
There's a good chance I may miss today's meeting. I will try to attend if time permits. Otherwise, I hope every has a great experience and I look forward to our next meeting!

Mary...are you ok with my reading either/and/or Ross and Angus?

    April 10, 2013

  • ellen

Since Denise and Elizabeth have dibs on 2 of the witches, and Mary has the 3rd...I will be a stand in...but would do a man's role if needed. Thanks for sending the script Mary.

    April 10, 2013

  • George L

Does anyone require a role filled? I'm content to be a member of the audience this time, but more than willing to read. Let me know ...

    April 10, 2013

  • Mary

Denise, John, Christopher, Elizabeth and Ellen, this link will take you to the page of the scene we're doing. I've got dibs on Witch 3. Pls think about what part you'd like to play, thanks.

Months ago I mentioned the meeting room at Farmer's Market on Fairfax and 3rd. I believe there is no charge or the fee is minimal. There's a porch outside the room for part of a group to rehearse.

Ok. I'll go Thursday and let you know Sunday.

What dates, Laura, do you need?

      April 9, 2013

Marta Rufe - I would like to cast you as Mom in John Aaron's scene for the reading on Sunday - I can send you a copy of the script if you email me at [masked]

I come from Thousand Oaks...where there's a will, there's a way. But the TO Library has a wonderful community room with a stage. It can hold up to 195 people. We hold many meeting there for a small charge.

I would be willing to kick to help pay for the room if all others did as well. Maybe every other month the Conejo Valley and Culver City.

I will check other SFV libraries and would appreciate if other Valley residents do the same.

    April 9, 2013

  • Mary

OK, I have enough for the 3 witches, MacBeth and Banquo so I'll be sending you guys the pages if I can dig up your emails! :)

I need a headcount for a Three Witches scene from MacBeth. Ideally I'd like five people of any gender (3 witches, MacBeth and Banquo) but three is good too. Or we can do four, and have someone double up. I'm SOOOO flexible.

I would by happy to read 'mom' which is type casting. However shall not arm wrestle over it...so if anyone else comes forward, I shall just as happily sit back and listen.

I'm re-posting this from John Aaron on the April Readings sign-up page so it will definitely reach all those signed-up for April 14th - I hope!

    John Aaron wrote:
Need five people for an original scene reading in April. It's the morning of Julie's wedding. Everything is great... except for Julie's family, the Rabbi and her groom, who is stuck at the airport.
CAST: Julie-the Bride; her Mom; her grandfather: the Rabbi; the piano player (man or woman). Henry has agreed to direct. Thanks, John.

Please reply here to this comment and we'll be in touch soon about parts. Noted that Elizabeth Ince and Marta Rufe have replied.

    Best Wishes, Henry.

So weird...I thought I RSVPd two weeks ago. Oh well!

    March 21, 2013

  • Elizabeth

And just to reiterate my remark from our last meeting -- casting need not be gender nor age specific. Thanks.
