Announcing a new Meetup for LA Single Boomers!

What: Come For Dinner & Dancing To Live Music
When: Sunday, April 17, 2011 6:00 PM

Where: The Gate
16925 Ventura Blvd.
Encino, CA 91316

Why: $750,000 in renovations makes this one of the Valley's prettiest restaurants. Unique Lebanese menu makes this a wonderful dining experience. Capacity for 250 gives us plenty of room to expand. More than 12 groups will take part.

We’re always on the lookout for new exciting venues. The Gate at 16925 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91316 (818-788-9800), will be the site of our next party on Sunday night, April 17, at 6:00 PM.

The location, just west of Balboa on the north side of Ventura Blvd., has been many different restaurants in the past. Four months after a staggering $750,000 in renovations, The Gate has become one of the loveliest restaurants in the Valley. With new high ceilings, beautiful beams and skylights the changes are quite noticeable. The side windows have all been replaced with French doors that open out completely during nice weather. And, the front window is now an all glass slider which can open the entire restaurant to the outside. The sound system is unparalleled and can easily support a full house which now seats 250.

We’re doing things a bit differently for this event. There will be no fixed cost or pre-payment. Instead you will be able to order anything you want off of the extensive menu, with a $15 minimum (before tax or tip). The Lebanese inspired cuisine features such items as a Hummus plate for $7, a Tabbouleh salad for $6, a Greek salad for $7, a Falafel plate for $10.99, Lentil soup for $7, a Beef or Chicken Shawarma platter for $14.99, a Alaskan Halibut platter for $19.99, a Shrimp Skewers platter for $19.99, a Lamb Shish Kebob platter for $19.99, a Lamb Chops platter for $24.99, and a Chicken Shish Kebab platter for $19.99. There are many additional items featured on the menu including desserts and beverages. House Wines will be $5, soft drinks $2.75, and small bottles of San Pellegrino water are $3.50.

For entertainment, we’re bringing back our friend David Maestro, and one of his female singers (http://www.myspace.com/davidmaestro/videos), who will play for your listening and dancing pleasure. David had everyone up and dancing at our November and December events.

Valet parking is free at The Gate, or you can park yourself on Ventura Blvd. or one of the side streets. Please start making plans to join us. As usual, we will cross promote this event with at least 12 other groups, so the variety of people coming should great! Our last two events averaged about 130 people. We’re expecting at least that amount for this event, so don’t miss out.

Check it out!
