The plan: Meet at the Charlestown Landing boat launch at 930a.m. We’ll paddle north up the Ohio River for about a mile before hitting Fourteenmile Creek.
What to bring: drinking water, lunch or snacks, dry bag
Directions: Charlestown State Park is about ½-hour from downtown Louisville. Take I-65 north to Indiana exit 6-A. Veer right on IN-62 east/IN-265 east towards Clark Maritime Center. Take ramp right at exit 10B and follow Indiana 62 east for about 8 miles. Charlestown State Park is on the right. Entrance fee for IN cars is $5, for out-of-state cars is $7 (fees will be waived on 9/11). After passing the gate house, turn right at the T-intersection and follow the road all the way down to the Ohio River. The boat launch is on the left as you face the river (see park map).
