Upcoming events (5+)
Have you been wondering where you can meet some new friends? Ladies and Gents, "Friendship Circle" is the place to be!!! Join us and form new friendships. There are even guests that return to other events together after meeting each other at these events. If you are new to LA or been here your whole life and want to reach out to new people, this event is a great place to start. We have a ice breaker to help you become engaged rather quickly. I mean, you can chat all night too but this a great starting point to mix and mingle with everyone in the room. :) We will hold our event at The Room in Santa Monica. This hideaway lounge features classic libations in a swanky, dark setting with cozy booths. We will have the entire venue to ourselves for the Meetup before the lounge opens to the general public - that way everyone will be there for the Meetup looking to make friends. When it does open to the public stay and enjoy yourself as the DJ starts spinning! Our events continue to receive great feedback. I really believe it's because most of our guests come with a great attitude and want to meet others. And, of course, the laughter is contagious too! Lastly, we are all about connections. Let's make a friend or two or three! We can go snowboarding, hiking, or museums together in the future! Dress Code: smart, stylish; no sportswear or baseball caps. Join me and other fun peeps at The Room for a great evening. The cost is $10 cash at the door. Agenda: 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM Check-in, grab a drink, say hello to people around you. :) 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM Ice Breaker Game Then The Room will open to the general public. Stick around and mingle or dance the night away when the DJ comes on! Parking: There is a parking lot directly behind the venue. Otherwise there is ample metered street parking. Expect a big turnout. This Meetup event is crossed-posted on a bunch of meetup groups with Mix Professionals (http://www.mixprofessionals.com/) being the main meetup. Expect a great turnout!! :)
Looking to save money on next season's season pass? And did I mention that you can use it immediately this season at Mammoth - they are going to be open until at least July 4?! The IKON Pass covers your favorite local mountains - Mammoth, June, Bear. In Tahoe there is Squaw/Alpine. In SLC there is Snowbird/Alta. In Colorado the 4 @ Aspen. Also included Big Sky, Steamboat, Copper Mountain, Deer Valley, Jackson Hole, Eldora, 4 in Canada and a bunch on the east coast. The IKON Pass comes in two levels - the "IKON Pass" and the "IKON Base Pass". Both give unlimited access to Bear, Mammoth, June, Squaw and more. However with the Base Pass there are blackout dates at some of the resorts (Christmas time, Presidents Day weekend and MLK weekend). A lot of people wonder if getting a pass is worth it. Let's do the math- an individual lift ticket can cost up to $180 or more at Mammoth. Multiply that by 4 days - and guess what, the base pass is cheaper and gives you unlimited riding! Don't have anyone to go with? Yes you do and they are in this group. We are on the mountain every weekend! And we plan trips to use the pass! As a group we went to Mammoth, Squaw/Alpine, Winter Park, Jackson Hole, Aspen, and Utah! Right now the IKON pass is $1049 for the full pass and $749 for the base pass. But you can get a fat discount with a code you enter at checkout, which will bring the price down to $919 for the full pass and $619 for the base! To get this price you need to purchase by Midnight on May 1. After that the price goes up! To get the code you will need to message me (Deee) and provide (1) your full name (2) DOB (3) whether you are a new passholder or a renewing and (4) whether you are going with the full pass or base pass. Once you give me that info I'll give you a code you can use on IKON's website to get a discount. Message me via Meetup. Here is my profile: https://www.meetup.com/members/5551640/ For more information about the pass check out their website: https://www.ikonpass.com/
We are going rafting down the Kern River and camping at Lake Isabella! This will be the 6th trip & always had a blast! Plus lets visit the Sequoia Trees! The funds cover rafting, Friday & Saturday dinners & pastries and coffee for breakfast & the campground. :) Bring your sleeping bag and come pitch a tent with us. ;) Besides rafting, we may kayak depending on water flow. We will go down the river twice. We have our own private campsite so everyone will hang out together! We are right on the lake with beautiful views and opportunities to explore day and night. Let's have a blast! We are close to civilization - near the supermarket, drug store, Starbucks and more. Itinerary: Friday - drive up about 150 miles. Ideally leave before traffic, but if you have to leave after work that is fine! When you get to the campground set up and then hang out and mingle with everyone. Saturday - With your new friends, visit the Sequoia trees and secret waterfall in the morning. Then head back raft in the afternoon! Hang out with your new friends in the evening! Sunday - you can head straight home or do something else such as see more Sequoias, enjoy some hot springs and/or try out the water slides. Questions: 1. What do I need to bring? A full list will be provided a week or two before the trip. But basically you need to bring your personal amenities and tent, sleeping bag air mattress etc. 2. What if I don't have a sleeping bag and/or tent? If you don't have a sleeping bag buy one or borrow one. You don't need a fancy one - a $20 one from Big 5 or Target will do. Or you can ask here is someone will share. Every time we've done this trip people have been willing to share tent space. 3. How does carpool work? The organizers will coordinate carpool for confirmed attendees based on where people are leaving from, when they can leave and whether or not they can drive. Departure times are determined by drivers. Expect to hear more about 1 week prior to the trip. Please do not use the comments to look for carpool - we will handle it. 4. What will the weather be like? Typically the weather in the area is high 70's/80's in the day and high 50's at night. It's great weather to raft and camp! 5. What if I don't know anyone else going - is it weird to go by myself? Not at all! Most people come by themselves to these events and have a blast and end up with a new social circle of friends! 6. How do I lock in my spot? This trip is posted on many Meetup groups. I am centralizing everyone going into one group. If you want to go you must RSVP on my main group. Spots go to first paid, regardless of when you RSVP. This trip will fill up quickly so if you want to go lock in your spot with a payment. Here is a link to my main Meetup with more details and payment instructions: http://bit.ly/RaftingMeetup This has been one of our most popular trips and has always been a great time!
