A golf group is a little different from the average meetup group in that when you RSVP yes for an event the host has made a reservation for you at a specific time and golf course under there name.
Members who no-show or have a late cancellation have a long term negative effect on the group as a whole as well the individual who made the reservation for you. The event host now has to let the course know that only 6 out of the 8 players will be playing. The result of this may be that the host is discouraged from hosting future events and the golf course may be reluctant to allow multiple tee times for the group.
Almost all our events fill up as well, so your RSVP held a space another member could have used and prevented them from attending.
Maintaining a strict RSVP policy and members respecting that policy is crucial for the groups success.
LA Golf Group RSVP Policy.
3 no-shows or late cancellations and you will be removed from the group.
After 1 violation of this policy event hosts may require conformation of your future attendance at events 36-72 hours prior and may remove you from an event without receiving this conformation.
What classifies as a no-show.
Yes RSVP and does not show up to the event
What classifies as a Late cancellation.
Yes RSVP and changed to NO within 24 hours of the event and don't contact the host with a valid reason why you are not attending at the last minute.
Late cancellations while unavoidable at times should not be taken lightly. That spot was being held for you by the event host and prevented other members from attending. Proper etiquette suggest that you e-mail the host an apology and explanation.
