Yes, the technical problem was frustrating to watch because it seemed like it would be such an easy fix--but the guy looked like he knew what he was doing. It would have been a treat to see the old photos of LA that I thought were in her slide show. Also, I think more specifics including figures and tables with demographic information would have been very helpful. Nevertheless, I thought the event was worthwhile--it certainly deepened my interest in the history of LA.

Aside from a technical problem, I thought the presentation by Angela James was very informative. She was very personable.

Hello Meetup friends. Today is our Black History Month Lecture "The Southern Migration West, Los Angeles," at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles - near Exposition Park and USC. Stop by and join us.

There are 4 different Meetup groups attending this event: Southern California History & Culture, the History of Los Angeles, Museum Meetups in Los Angeles, and A Downtown Los Angeles and Los Angeles Metro Meetup.

Look for our organizer Michele at the front lobby ticket counter.

We had hoped to go out to eat with everyone after but we won't be able to join you. However if the group still wants to go out after that would be great.
