Number of organizers: 1
This is a comedy that plays with the stereotypes of larpers, fantasy larp and post-larp parties. In this larp, the players portray a bunch of excited larpers meeting over a beer just after a classic fantasy larp in the forest. Players will both create the story of the fantasy larp they just finished and play out the consequences it has for relationships at the after-party. Did the princess fall in love with the orc? Why did the general steal the magic feather from the bard, and are they kissing in that corner? The larp belongs to the players, anything can happen, and anything that can happen has already happened in the larp-within-a-larp, Mist over Goblin Peak.
My notes on "The Great After-Party"
NO LARP EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, though those that have it will get the inside jokes
Character roles will be randomly determined at the game (you can choose a few options if you don't like the one you get)
There will be a pre-larp workshop to explain the structure, rules, tone, etc., of the game
This is a one-shot immersive theater style larp with NO COMBAT NO MECHANICS NO NUMBERS of any kind. It does, however, feature rules, namely "Cut" and "Brake", which will be explained at the pre-larp workshop.
Costuming is optional. You just came from a weekend-long fantasy boffer larp campaign, so wear whatever you think is appropriate to wear at the "AGP" or "Afters". Kit and garb do not have to match the character you play. FREE TO PLAY, but you are responsible for all of your own food/drink purchases as well as transport to the game (carpooling recommended).
Please try to arrive on time for the prep (and so we can get our table), though you can leave early or stay late.
THIS IS AN INCLUSIVE LARP, AND DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE ON THE BASIS OF RACE, ETHNICITY, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RELIGION, POLITICAL BELIEFS, etc.
However, it does feature stereotypes of larpers. If you are offended by this stereotyping, feel free to make your objections known, but you probably will not enjoy this event and might not want to attend (though you can). I am happy to discuss this further if needed. There are references to sex and sexual activity in this larp, and in the characters. Players under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Not recommended for players under age 16. If you are under that age or know of one who wants to play, please contact me first. Alcohol will be served on premises (a public eating facility), pursuant to California laws. If you plan on consuming alcohol, you must be 21+ and have a photo ID. You must also either have a ride prepared to drive you home or plan on waiting hours after imbibing your last drink. PLEASE BE AWARE OF YOUR ALCOHOL INTAKE.
There is no insurance nor waiver to sign for this larp. All Larps from the Factory are designed to have a low barrier to entry--anyone should be able to walk in off the street and play. This is more true for some larps than others; this one has an exceptionally low barrier.
