Realms of Conflict presents: The Secret of Isveld

The Realms of Conflict Chapters in Northern and Southern California are combining forces for the first time to run a joint event!

The Secret of Isveld

As Winter sets its icy grip on Ith the nights grow longer and colder. Somewhere in the world a desperate war rages to a fiery peak, yet much of the world takes no notice of the struggle. In one of these places, a small village of the Quazi Empire in Alteria by the name of Isveld, a celebration is being planned. The Brothers Mummer, two of the most renowned followers of the goddess Quivina, have chosen Isveld to be the location of their next grand party, the Convergence. Many do not know why such an odd location has been chosen, though it is rumored that there are always important events that occur in all of the places the two brothers decide to hold their festivals. As people make their plans to travel to the party, many wonder what surprises lie in store for its attendees. Kahless, of the Ascended Council, met with some during their travels to let them know the Council had sent Ascended to make sure Isveld was safe for the festivities to follow - given the reputation of the citizens of the Quazi Empire...

Anything received after that date may not be addressed at game, so please make this deadline. Reminders will be sent out.

* Character build, backgrounds and "downtime" are required in order to continue or start Questing. Send all character related information to [masked]

* You MUST RSVP on this Meetup event listing for us to get an accurate count. If you have no computer access, contact Rick at the Thursday Fighter's Guild practice.

Miscellaneous :

Parking info - All vehicles are to be parked in front of the "village" proper, in the parking areas designated to the patrons during Faire season. Players and staff are allowed to drive their vehicles into the village anytime before listen-up (typically held between 5-8pm). After listen up and game starts, no further vehicles will be allowed access until game is over on Sunday. NPCs and Staff may be used to help people get their belongings in and out of the site if there is a need.

The Riverview Park is smack dab in the middle of a surburban spawl in Corona, California. It is minutes away from Corona Municipal Airport. There are over a dozen hotels within a 20 minute drive, and many places to eat.

1900 Aviation Drive Corona, CA 92880 (951)[masked] discovercorona.com

The Game Staff recognizes that many players will wish to indulge in creature comforts being so close to amenities that are not on site. We ask that you consider and plan carefully any time you will be off site. The game will not wait for you, there will be no one to catch you up in the midst of action. We plan on keeping characters who are not present at game tied to "the fate of the party". This means that if there is a Faction wipe, there may be dire consequences to certain characters who were off site during that time. There will be of course exceptions to this, mostly in light of people who have special conditions or needs that cannot be met with the amenities at hand on site.

Campground Information

We ask that everyone help with keeping the immersion as high and constant as possible. We have an amazing site for this combined event, and want to make the most of the level of immersion we are able to bring to our players! Basic campground etiquette applies, and then some - we would like to be able to use this site again!

*Everyone is expected to police their own trash. We will yellow or red card those that abuse the site in this fashion.

*Smoking areas and rules will be announced during listen up.

*There are several areas that are naturally conducive to a "faction style" encampment within the village. Camping outside of the village, or inside any of the buildings is not allowed.

* No vehicles may be parked inside the village once game starts. Players may sleep inside vehicles but "fate of the party" rules apply.

* No open fires are allowed, propane grills only.

* There is potable well water on site. We recommend bringing your own water for the event. If food is washed out of dishes or cookware, it is expected that you clean up all the debris.

* There is limited electricity on site, however at the outlet locations the power is unlimited. We prefer that extension cords not be used over large areas - during combat they could get tripped on. Game staff is not responsible for supplying cords or electricity to campsites or Faction encampments.

* Additional rules may be added to this list prior or during the event as Game Staff sees fit.

Important things to bring...

* An open mind. This isn't a regular LARP. It is based on a European model and there are times where the conflict and parts of the story are being created completely between the Players themselves. If you aren't used to playing against your friends, this will be a challenge.

* A good attitude, especially in regards to critiques and problems that will always come up. We are here to have fun, adventure, and engage in the world we've created.

* Bring insect repellent and sun screen. It may be still HOT during the day. Hydrate!!!

* Bring warm clothing and layers! It may be COLD during the night. Be proactive and look up the weather to plan appropriately.

Packing List:

* Garb/armor/weapons

* Good serviceable black boots or shoes (that can get dirty and have some tread - even a bit of water-proofing is good. NO OPEN-SHOES (i.e., sandals, flip flops)

* NPC garb if you plan on being one - (Black clothing, shirts and pants) and sweatshirts to wear under garb. Obviously, plan for the weather.

* If you are a PC, remember that you must supply your own food, buy into the Meal Plan, or make other arrangements. RoC provides food for NPCS only.

Hey everyone! If you go to the current address you will miss the site by a half mile or so. 14600 Baron Dr, Corona, CA 92880, United States is the actual address. The gate will be locked but we will be opening it around 3 and keeping it open for a bit. If you show up late, or get lost call (408)[masked] and we will let you in. Alternatively you can call (951)[masked] to be let in. See you all there!

Does it still count as bringing alchohol if its stored in your stomache?

Hahaha! I thought that plot meant a plot of land for camping, like a campsite plot. That makes sense now. Now that I'm reading this over again I'm noticing something else. I don't want to take advantage of anyone, but it's says $25 for new characters. Does that stand for me since I havent larped with my character at all and I have only just begun larping thursday? If so I can afford to bring my girlfriend too. She really wants to go but doesn't have the money, she's always wanted to larp but never had the chance too.

We can let you guys borrow some garb. Joe and I will bring some of our personal stock up and you can pull some stuff from our NPC garb. It wont be amazing, but it will be something that will allow you guys to play. I go to Berkeley, I understand the crazy finals rush. The same goes for weapons.

Holy crap you guys are awesome. No wonder the real world is full of dicks. All the nice ones are larping!

So what is the difference between personal plot and entree fee. If I wish to show up and stay overnight, do I have to pay both?

Corwin, the entry fee is what we all have to pay if we want to play. The added $30 for personal plot is if you want to have a specific mod geared towards you personally--if you want an encounter or to resolve something with your character.

      December 10, 2012

Personal plot does happen to all players and you can try for personal things as well. The personal plot package guarantees that we will run a deep and thought out scene or mod for your character.

Did the site get rid of the permanent structure with the flush toilet and sinks?

I have a decent sized mirror that anyone is more then welcome to use. It's actually pretty cool :D

Cora, there is a "make up" room that has 2 full sized mirrors in them. We used it to prep ourselves for the haunted house, so I am hoping it will be available.

    Site update :
    * This is a tent-camping event. There are no buildings to sleep in. Please make sure to plan appropriately. Faction leaders s, please make sure your people have what they need.

    * There is no water on site. All water must be brought to site. That means no access to flush toilets on site, but there will be two porta potties on site. Rick

There will be a tavern area and there are some factions that are putting together food for coin. We also have a meal plan on top of that

    December 5, 2012

  • Phillip

Will there still be a tavern to purchase food/drinks in-game?
