National Pit Bull Awareness Day Pack Walk at the Rose Bowl

The National Pit Bull Awareness campaign is a nationwide effort to bring positive awareness and attention to pit bulls and their responsible owners. LARPBO is proud to participate on this very important day by hosting a pack walk.

Please let us know you will be at the pack walk by RSVP'ing here. Since we expect a huge crowd and many eyes will be on us, it is even more important that everyone abide by our guidelines and are familiar with our rules of conduct. Please take a moment to read them.

After the pack walk, LARPBO will continue the celebrations at Crescenta Valley Park for a picnic with friends and families, and of course our beloved dogs.  For picnic details, please visit http://www.meetup.com/LARPBOCOMMUNITY/events/138499642/.

 **************************************************

Let’s change the perception of one person, one community at a time!

TRAIL: 5K loop around the stadium

DIFFICULTY: Easy

DISTRACTION LEVEL: Moderate (heavy foot traffic, bicyclists, other dogs, etc.)

WEATHER: mid-80's (partly cloudy)

There is no game on this day so parking is free.  Meet at Lot F. For directions and stadium map, please refer to http://www.rosebowlstadium.com/visitor-center/getting-here-2.

In consideration of everyone's time, please be prompt.  We will begin our walk at 10:00 AM.

LARPBO Pack Walk Guidelines:

# 1 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash or e-collar. Prong collars should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes are not allowed.

#2 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). We recommend maintaining a six-foot distance.

#3 Please bring doggie poo bags.

#4 Make sure you bring water for you and your dog.

#5 One dog per handler.

#6 Share the road. Move to the right to allow others to pass.

* All breeds welcome.

* There will be lots of foot traffic, bicyclists, roller bladers, skate boarders, and several others dogs. If your dog tends to be reactive to any of these distractions, please be EXTRA mindful and prepared.

* If you have additional questions, please read the full basic LARPBO rules of conduct in the discussion forum.

I can't think of a better intro to LARPBO than this pack walk. It was well attended and organized with hundreds of pits and pit owners walking side by side and no incidents. My puppy Ruby can sometimes be a little hyper in crowds and unfamiliar surroundings, but she felt confident and secure with this pack!! It was a wonderful, inspiring day.

This was such a great walk and day in general. Thank you for organizing! Ruby and I had a great time. Does anyone know how we can see the pics that were taken by the professional photographer that was at the party? He told me his website but I didn't write it down. Thanks!

What a pack walk that was! I couldn't stop smiling the entire way around the Rosebowl. So many incredible pibbles and their people. It was especially fun to meet everybody from the different areas LARPBO covers. We couldn't make it to the picnic this year so I'm hoping this fabulous event becomes an annual thing.

Great location, high visibility to the community at large to show how well behaved, wonderful, beautiful our pitties are. We are changing the world's perception of our beloved pits! I know this for fact every time I talk with someone new about pots and even more so en they also meet my girl, Ruby.
