ART in the STREETs...walking the Alley ways in search ART & URBAN Decay

  • 2 days ago · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

We will meet at the pizza shop across Fairfax High and start our Adventure heading EAST on the North side of Melrose ALLEY WAY and walking down 5-6 blocks at a casual pace looking for the BEAUTY that is around in Graffiti and Urban Decay.  We will dissect and interpret what we see and transform them into A R T...as we SEE it!  We will than cross the street and do the same on the other side.  For those that want to stick around for some pizza and conversation we will meet back at the Tomatoe Pie

The slide show is from our first Adventure taken at this same area...Have a LOOK!

Fabulous prowling the streets with you all hunting for beauty in the detritus. I have yet to even LOOK at my photos as I've been busy all day working on stuff for day job, etc. But I will ! Meanwhile, check out my photos on instagram at: KatyParksBeautifulPhotos.
Thanks for being our fearless leader, Larry! Looking forward to the next one... and maybe lunch too!

Hi Larry, What lenses do you recommend? It sounds like this is not a time to be changing lenses. Is a Nikon 18-55 good or[masked], or wide angle? Filters needed? Flash? Any recommendations are welcome! Thank you

We are photographing wall murals on buildings and back alleys, but also some street scenes and people. So travel light, no need for filters and flashes. Usually one lens is sufficient like your 18-55mm, I usually shoot with 17mm f/1.8 lens on my Micro Four Thirds camera, or 12-40mm f2.8 zoom lens.

If Larry sees this he can give you his advice.
