Let's celebrate the first day of autumn by exploring historic Boyle Heights at a CAFAM-sponsored "Folk Art Everywhere Happening."
This walk will be led by cultural programmer Carmelo Alvarez and will dig into the interesting terrain of Boyle Heights, including its cultural landmarks and diverse musical traditions. Emphasis will also be placed on the various immigrant groups that have lived in the neighborhood over the years.
PLEASE RSVP BOTH HERE AND TO CAFAM (Craft and Folk Art Museum): firstname.lastname@example.org .
The walk begins and ends at Mariachi Plaza Kiosk 1711 East First Street, Los Angeles, CA 90033 (Mariachi Plaza is accessible via the Metro Gold Line).
Plan on getting there by 10:45 am since the walk starts at 11:00. During the walk, we'll keep our eyes open for an interesting place to have lunch when the walk concludes at 1:00 pm.
Hope you can join us!
