What is your background, experience and interest in Web Performance?

To have great performance your server ~ application environment must log and provide information in real time so that professionals can tweak and improve performance. Seems like many environments turn off/reduce logging levels in production where data is needed the most in order to quantify information so that performance can be increased. Since the beginning of data processing, experts would not think twice about adding additional DASD, as storage was considered "cheap". Thanks to virtualization and the ability to spin up and put into production additional hardware and software, there should be no reason not to collect as much data as is required to know exactly how your environment is performing in production. Thankfully, Linux offers a plethora of tools and scripting capabilities to fill any gaps in current environments. As new techniques are introduced, this meetup should help me to stay current.

What cb is saying about this Meetup Group

This was my first meetup with LAWebSpeed and if future meetups are as great as this one, it will soon out grow that conference room @coloft and that will be a good thing. Great group, great people, better sharing of relevant and timely information.
