Let's Stretch is an outdoor stretching class. It is aimed at office workers who wish to improve their flexibility and posture, by performing gentle body stretches to remove a lot of the tension in the body. Our classes are held outdoors in the fresh air of Dublin's parks at lunchtime or early evening, giving you a chance to unwind.
Things like working at a computer all day, cycling, walking and hiking, can leave us with poor flexibility. This can often be addressed using effective stretching, as well as lengthening the muscles it will also improve circulation and oxygen supply. Most people never take time to stretch each day and yet we all know we should do it, so if you're one of those people come and join us. The routines will cover the entire body and should last no longer than 40mins.
You will not need gym clothing as you will not be sweating, but be sure your clothing is loose enough to have a good range of motion. It does not matter how inflexible you are, you simply try your best to achieve a posture, and slowly over time your body will adjust and open up. It doesn't matter what age you are, though you must be over 18. It's not yoga, it's not pilates, though we may use similar postures from these and other stretching practices. All instructors are fully certified and insured and all classes are only €5 pay as you go.
You don't need any equipment as we sit on the grass, though you may wish to bring a mat. All you need is loose clothing so you can achieve a good range of motion, and bring a smile.
