What we're about
Is New Zealand on your bucket list? If you are LGBT (or LGBT friendly) and wanting to experience one for most LGBT friendly countries in the world (#2 according to Lonely Planet) then New Zealand is for you.
Join this meet up to meet Debbie Clarke, founder and owner of New Zealand Awaits. New Zealand Awaits is a New Zealand in-bound travel company that specialises in taking care of LGBT travellers to New Zealand. Debbie resides in Concord MA for 6 months of each year (May - October) and offers you the opportunity to meet her to discuss your New Zealand travel dreams.
Debbie has spent years travelling her own home country, meeting and staying with local accommodation owners, experiencing the activities she recommends (and helping you avoid others!), and wining and dining at the local vineyards and restaurants. Debbie and her team have hiked, biked, kayaked, ziplined, flown, and cruised through New Zealand, and continue to do so, so they can select the highest quality experiences for you. Debbie is passionate about working with and supporting small and locally owned businesses who provide exceptional, authentic experiences to her guests.
What service we offer:
1. Itinerary Creation and bookings for semi-independent travellers. Don't waste hours (or days) of your precious time planning a trip in New Zealand when you have a local expert available to share local insights and knowledge. We spend time talking with you about how you like to travel, what you want to see, how and when you might like to go, and what your budget is. Together with you we create an itinerary based on your desires, and our local knowledge. We match you with experiences, lodging, and locals who will make your New Zealand trip a truly memorable trip.
2. Private Guides. Just as above, we work with you to create a trip of a lifetime, and we privately guide you so you don't need to worry about a thing. Just sit back and relax, while we take care of you from start to finish.
3. Small Group Tours. Every year we run some LGBT small group tours of no more than 12 travellers. This is an opportunity to meet other singles and couples (we always get a good mix) and share this trip of a lifetime with other like-minded people. Many lasting friendships have been created on our trips.
4. Private Group Tours. If our small group tours don't work for you, then rally some friends and we'll create your own group trip. This is very popular with many of our guests who have started with about 8 friends, and then put the word out to others that they are planning a trip to New Zealand, and end up with 14 - 16 travellers. It's an excellent way to travel with old friends, meet new friends (as inevitably someone knows someone who want to go), create a trip based on your groups' interests, and at a reasonable cost. We've hosted some really amazing groups who have had incredible experiences in New Zealand this way.
You can learn more about our services and tours on our website (www.newzealandawaits.com) but better yet, come to one of our Massachusetts based meetups to meet Debbie, and learn first-hand if travelling to New Zealand with us is right for you.
