What we're about
Lowcountry Initiative for the Literary Arts (LILA) hosts a network of writers’ groups that meet on the second Thursday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Upper Lance Hall of Circular Congregational Church. Writing is a solitary activity; getting feedback for works-in-progress is essential to every writer’s career. Membership in LILA is encouraged, but not necessary. Click here to download the rules for critiquing and being critiqued for the Monthly Writing Groups. For info, email email@example.com. Writers’ Groups discuss areas of writing including: Poetry, Short Story, Women’s Fiction, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Memoir, Romance, Mystery, Fiction (all other), Non-Fiction, Screenwriting, Young Adult, Children’s Books In addition, the LILA Veterans’ Writing Group is open to all military veterans.* Veterans of all ages, branches of the military, and conflicts are welcome. You need not have any prior experience with writing, only a desire to write and share your stories. This group is led by J.E. Elliott, a writing and English instructor and writing group leader. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Elliott at firstname.lastname@example.org. Learn more HERE.
