ANCIENT FOREST WALK-(RARE VISIT TO NATURE RESERVE 27.04.14).

You will have to wait 364 days to go on this walk again!  FOR TODAY ONLY:DON'T MISS THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT BRITAIN'S SECOND OLDEST NATURE RESERVE. It is only open 1 day of the Year!!!

Please bring appropriate leg and footwear for a forest walk in this ancient wood and meadow which forms one of Britain's oldest nature reserves.The BLUEBELLS will be at their best during this one mile-long (approx) nature trail.

Perivale Wood is an 11.6 hectare Local Nature Reserve  (LNR). It was designated an LNR in 1974. It is owned and managed by the Selborne Society.

The site is mainly old oak woodland, with areas of pasture and damp scrub, three ponds and two streams. There is a vast variety of plant species, 544 species of moths, 17 species of mammals and 115 of birds. The Selborne Society was founded in 1885 as a national body to commemorate the work of the naturalist Gilbert White, but is now principally a local body managing Perivale Wood.

 

Please note that there is a £2 nominal meetup organisers charge for this event for guests and those who do not hold the Ken's Event Membership Card .
