  • Voting Reform Monthly Meeting: Legislation, Elections, and Various Other Things

League of Women Voters of New York City

Ongoing, number 1: we will report on ongoing outreach and advocacy with state legislators about automatic voter registration and voting rights for parolees. Ongoing, number 2: we are kickstarting voter education efforts related to asking citizens to advocate for automatic voter registration, as well as informing voters about the new early voting law. Ongoing, number 2: the City Council Charter Revision Commission is reviewing potential changes to the NYC Charter, including potentially how city elections are counted. We will at this point know whether ranked-choice voting is on the short list for potential ballot referenda, and therefore whether we should be making an election season game plan about this.
