What we're about

Hello ladies of Newton, Brookline, Watertown and Waltham! (And from wherever else you are joining us from)
Are you interested in getting out more, trying new things, and socializing with other fun ladies nearby to where you live? This is the group for you! Types of activities include drinks, coffee, dinner, brunch, walking, culture, art, live music, trivia night, etc. and are usually local to this area.
With many members and many event organizers, there are a lot of events to choose from. Meetup events tend to be a mix of new and returning members. Many members have made friendships with people they socialize with outside of Meetup.
We don't have a lot of rules, but just a few to make sure things run smoothly:
1. If you RSVP or you are on the Waitlist for an event and you can't make it, out of respect for the event organizer, the businesses we work with, and people on a Waitlist, please change your RSVP.
2. If the event is at a place where a purchase is expected such as a restaurant, please make purchase accordingly and tip to support the business and staff. We want to support the businesses and employees who have been great about serving our group. Event organizers will include what's expected in the description such as drinks only are ok, if a dinner purchase is expected, etc.
The membership fee of $7/year that covers the cost of the Meetup subscription fees will resume on Jan 1, 2022.

If you're interested in hosting a Meetup event and you are already an Event Organizer, go ahead and plan the event! If you are not yet an event organizer and you have an idea, contact Jessica to be set up to host.

It is finally Spring, and I want to be on the river! The plan is to paddle for a 1-2 hours (depending on how energetic the group feels) and then go to lunch.

We will meet in the main parking lot at 10AM when the boat rental opens. I have my own kayak, but if you need one they are easy to obtain at the boat house nearby. You can use your season pass if you have one or a rental is $30 for 1.5 hours for a single or $45 for 1.5 hours for a double kayak. You will need a photo id. Rental includes life jackets, paddles, cushions and some safety basics. Be sure to request a dry bag for items that you need to take with you (like keys), but don't want to get wet. You can find more information about renting here https://paddleboston.com/rates/

Anyone renting kayaks will launch from the boat house. The staff is great and will take care of getting you settled into the boats. Anyone with their own kayaks will get in the water from the parking lot with me. We will all meet on the water right in front of the boathouse and go together from there.

Once we are done we'll dry off (you may want a towel and a change of clothing) and grab lunch at The Local in Waltham (99 3rd Avenue,
Unit 3, Waltham, MA 02451). If you are unable to attend after you RSVP YES, please update your RSVP so that someone else can take your slot.

Note: The main parking lot is just across the river. You will see green signs that direct you there from the boat house. It will look like you are going on I95, but keep following the signs. You will turn off prior entering the highway.
