What we're about

Hello ladies of Newton, Brookline, Watertown and Waltham! (And from wherever else you are joining us from)

Are you interested in getting out more, trying new things, and socializing with other fun ladies nearby to where you live? This is the group for you! Types of activities include drinks, coffee, dinner, brunch, walking, culture, art, live music, trivia night, etc. and are usually local to this area.

With many members and many event organizers, there are a lot of events to choose from. Meetup events tend to be a mix of new and returning members. Many members have made friendships with people they socialize with outside of Meetup.

We don't have a lot of rules, but just a few to make sure things run smoothly:

1. If you RSVP or you are on the Waitlist for an event and you can't make it, out of respect for the event organizer, the businesses we work with, and people on a Waitlist, please change your RSVP.

2. If the event is at a place where a purchase is expected such as a restaurant, please make purchase accordingly and tip to support the business and staff. We want to support the businesses and employees who have been great about serving our group. Event organizers will include what's expected in the description such as drinks only are ok, if a dinner purchase is expected, etc.

3. Our events are adult only. If you can't get a sitter, check out our calendar for other events when you can join us.

4. Starting August 1, we'll be charging a membership fee of $5/year that is primarily to cover the cost of the Meetup subscription fees.

If you're interested in hosting a Meetup event, contact Karen or Maryellen what you're thinking and we can give you some event organizer privileges and tips for running a successful event.

Upcoming events (5+)

April Monthly Meetup, Bowling, Food, and Drinks, PLEASE READ THE DETAILS

Please read the details to make sure this event will work for you. We'll start meeting from 6:30 to set up teams and bowling starts at 7pm. We'll initially meet at the bar until the bowling begins. We can stay later than 9, but our bowling ends at 9. We have 2 lanes reserved from 7-9 pm. Lanes are $30/hour plus $3/person/shoes and each lane holds 5-6 people. All bowlers must wear bowling shoes. We'll divide the total cost evenly, so the cost will be somewhere between $13 and $23/person depending on how many people we have, so please bring cash for your bowling. For food and drinks, they will do separate tabs, so you can pay for that how you want. https://www.bowlbrighton.com/ Parking: There are a lot of free spots on the street. If you can't find one, you can park in the Warriors parking lot behind Flatbread and it's $5 with validation from Flatbread. There are limited spaces, so each person has to sign up for themselves. The venue has been very willing to accommodate us. If you RSVP or you are on the Waitlist and can't make it, please update your status to be fair to others. Hope to see you there!

Brunch at The LOCAL Kitchen & Drinks Waltham

The LOCAL Kitchen & Drinks Waltham

**Note the new location** Brunch, in my opinion, is the best meal of the day, since it combines breakfast food and cocktails. Let's get our Sunday started right with good food and conversation. The food at The Local is tasty and there are good gluten free and vegetarian options. We will ask for separate checks. Also there is no reservation. We will meet out front and go in together.

"Avenue Q" musical in Concord

The Umbrella Annex

I've seen this show several times and love it! It's like Sesame Street meets Seinfeld. I've seen several shows by the Umbrella Stage Company, and they do an excellent job. Tickets on Goldstar are $21. IMPORTANT: To buy your ticket and be seated with me, use this Goldstar link: https://bit.ly/2Zw8RNV NOTE: The Umbrella facility is under renovation so shows are temporarily running at an alternate location, the Umbrella Annex.
