New Pathfinder Campaign! Open to beginners.

Brand new Pathfinder game starting!  Open to new Pathfinder players, new to RPG players and seasoned players.

This first session will be an open conversation and possible character creation.  If the RSVP list is full - you are still welcome to show up and see what it is about and as a potential backup player/second campaign player.

---------------------------------------------

My campaign setting IS slightly abnormal. The setting itself is focused in a time period long before typical story settings. Humans are a brand new race in the world(only 1000 years old as a race), and thus are no more common proportionally than any other race, and also having a different racial template. There are also other races that either do not exist(halfings), rarely exist(half-orcs, half-elves), or are not available as PCs(elves) for story reasons. This is offset by having several custom made races for the world which include a race of sages, a race of feline(female)/canine(male) people, and a race of plant people. Orcs replace half-orcs as the "I hit things" race, and dwarves & gnomes are as normal. Many other races exist(from the advanced race book) as playable races as well. If you enjoy characters and races beyond human, or simply enjoy playing "happy-go-lucky" types of humans, this is a great setting for you!

The world itself also has an organic feel to it where things happen in the world regardless of player involvement, but also develop differently with player involvement. It is "sandboxy," but with several overarching storylines that develop over the course of several in game years.

This can be a good, neutral(recommended), or even evil campaign. Player choice!

Feel free to throw me private messages for questions, requests, or suggestions... or even just to say hi, really.

All respectful and open minded people are welcome, whether newbies or seasoned pros!

P.S. Date is pretty much set in stone for me.  Time and location are completely flexible if I start getting some suggestions coming in.  I do prefer a comfy living room over small rented spaces.  :P

Jason seems like a good GM, so looks like the campaign will be really fun! Friendly group overall.

    On Sunday:

Players! There are some things I would like you to bring. First and foremost... LAPTOPS! Second... notebook and pen! Dice will likely NOT be needed. Character creation often takes several hours per player so we will not be getting too far into it, but we will be discussing who wants to play what, and writing some notes down for "homework" character creation.

I will bring some papers describing the campaign setting, homerules, limitations, etc. We'll have a discussion about various player preferences and I will incorporate them into how the game will be ran as best I can.

Feel free to bring anything you feel is relevant, and any pathfinder books you have for reference.

Hope to see you all on Sunday!

P.S. If you have ANY specific questions, text/call me at (503)[masked]

Wow! So it looks like I have several last minute RSVPs here. Everyone who has commented requesting to join, and all RSVPs are welcome to come to this event. Pathfinder campaigns do have a normal cap of 6 players and a GM (total of 7 individuals), but this first meeting will mostly be discussion and introduction. I am willing to run the game with more than 6 players (won't be easy...), or a possible 2 different groups in the same game world. This will be discussed on Sunday.

If two groups are not possible... we'll figure out a waiting list of sorts. This will be discussed on Sunday. For now, if you are interested just show up!

Are you still looking for more people? I would love to play and bring friend (he's not a meet up member).

Hi Jennifer, I'm glad you and your friend joined this new game! If your friend decides after the first gathering to stay in the campaign, I'd strongly suggest having them sign up to make it easy for the GM/DM to track true RSVPs and communicate with everyone in one place in case of scheduling conflicts, reminders, etc. Have fun Sunday!

If you are interested in this event but just missed the RSVP cap - please still RVSP for the wait-list and plan to join. Dropouts do happen.

FYI - you all get 10% off most RPG related items at Red Castle during this event (and any future ones scheduled) So get there early to pick up stuff!

I'll be in the Armory room for an ongoing 4E game and hope to say hi to everyone before the event is done!

I have not, actually. If you wouldn't mind inquiring for me, that'd be awesome!

Red Castle is great for the small room/less distraction and noise! And, being able to rely on a location even if a player drops out for a day, etc. The employees and owners are also really great. Sounds like a great concept, hope you have a blast!

Ah if it was the opposite weeks, id give up a game to have a chance to play pathfinder, but alas, I cannot abandon my favorite DND character for pathfinder! Cheers!
