We practice Mindfulness meditation based on the teachings passed down to us from the Buddha, in the lineage of Theravada Buddhism from the Thai forest tradition. The sessions are organic, held in the moment to moment experience and to what is arising and present.
One does not have to be a Buddhist to apply the teachings and put them into practice in your own life. The teachings are timeless and are available to us ALL. The Buddha invites us to try them out and see if we can cultivate a sense of well-being, peace, ease and learn to let go of our habitual mind thoughts which keep us stuck.
The teachings offered will be enhanced by the sharing and discussion within our community (sangha) and the meditation practices being offered. Periodic offerings may include Mindful body movement practices; music and sound practices; walking meditation...
To support the safety of the groups sharing no-cross talk or advise is to be given from one to another. Each persons experience is unique and sacred, this sharing and open heartedness is a place where deep learning begins. It is through discussion and sharing that we come to see our interconnectedness to each other.
Dana: "Generosity~donations" are encouraged to support the UU church which allows this space for us to practice in. The teachings are freely offered and donations are welcomed to help support the continuation of this meet up site and our community's web site.
Please arrive a few minutes early. To support the silence and sharing please turn cell phones to silent or off.
"May all beings everywhere be happy and free. May my thoughts, words & actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and freedom for all.
We look forward to seeing you!
