Come along and explore a variety of items related to Avada. We will explore the Arvada Center inside and out and then grab lunch at The Golden European Restaurant which opened in Arvada in 1995.



The Arvada Center opened July 4, 1976. The Arvada Center produces, curates, and creates national-caliber arts, humanities, education, and entertainment that are designed to help you see, hear, feel, and think a little deeper. Here, there’s truly something for everyone.

The Arvada Historical Museum which is located on the main level at the very middle of the Center complex. In 1972 a group of area citizens, established the Arvada Historical Society for the purpose of promoting and preserving local history.

Galleries at the Arvada Center host a dozen or more fine art exhibitions each year in three distinctive galleries with 10,000 square feet of space. The Arvada Center prides itself on keeping its gallery and museum exhibitions FREE and open to the public seven days a week, something that it has done since inception in 1976.

Austin Parkhill: Unselfie - Jeffco Alumni Exhibition

The Arvada Center welcomes back Austin Parkhill who began his artistic career in the Arvada Center’s Jefferson County High School Art Exhibition. Parkhill attended Arvada West High School from 1999 – 2003 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University. Now a talented professional artist, he returns this spring to exhibit his large-scale photorealistic paintings. Parkhill was a student of featured Jeffco Teacher Keith Oelschlager.

Keith Oelschlager: Personality of Place - Jeffco Teacher Solo Exhibition

The Jeffco Teacher Solo Exhibition highlights one such teacher and artist, and this year, Keith Oelschlager will exhibit his paintings of notable places around the Denver Metro area. Oelschlager teaches at Arvada West High School and was featured alumni artist Austin Parkhill’s teacher.

In the field south of the building a full-fledged outdoor sculpture garden exists. Unbound: Sculpture in the Field features selected artists creations that are either abstraction or conceptual art, and it showcases some of biggest names in the state's sculpture scene.
