2018 St. Patrick's Day Ride
Routes of 16, 20 and 36 miles wind through beautiful Northeast Illinois over quiet secondary roads with SAG support. All routes open at 8:00am. All riders must plan to complete their rides by 1:00pm when all routes close and SAG support stops. As in previous years, we will be entertained by 'Acoustic Soul Generations'. The band plays music from bluegrass, folk, country, 50's and 60's, Rock and Roll, classic rock and some blues. For your own safety and the safety of others: Obey all applicable traffic laws. Helmets, which comply with "U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets", are required. Ride within your ability and physical condition. Carry personal identification. Bring a bike in good condition, with a spare tube, basic tools, a water bottle, and basic knowledge of repairs. The routes are on public roads which must be shared with motorists. Local law enforcement authorities may patrol the roads and may issue citations for traffic violations. Bicycles should be ridden single file at all times, even when traffic is not present. State law prohibits the use of headsets while riding on public roadways.

What we're about

Public Group

The Lake County Bicycle Group (LCBG) was established to connect casual, long-distance cyclists in the Lake County, IL area with other like-minded folks for camaraderie and fun! Rides are offered for advanced beginner / intermediate group riders - both road and trail - for round-trip distances of 20 miles plus in a non-competitive, friendly atmosphere. You won't find any hammerfests or pace lines here!

We host regularly scheduled rides in and around Lake County as well as participate in events open to the general public, such as Bike the Drive and the Four Star Bike Tour. Jaunts to local hangouts - breakfast, pizza, or brews, anyone? - in addition to destination day trips and overnight treks are also part of our itinerary.

Spandex optional :-)
