Finished the century.... But it wasn't my first.... So no need to congratulate me.... But it was my friend Nancy's first.... And much thanks to Kathi and Scott for the hookups....

It's still not a favorite of mine.... But it was good to get a century in this year....

Hey all, I'm new to the group but have been following on Facebook for a while. Anyways I'll be riding either the 50 or the 62 tomorrow depending on how I feel in the AM. Look for the really tall guy in the black and red helmet.

7am is going to be a stretch but who knows? I'll probably be there around 8.

Scott will not be riding due to his back issues - any gentleman out there want his registered spot at $22.00?

    1 · September 18, 2013

    • Kathi T.

My only concern and I don't know what the answer is... are there wristbands that the people at the registration table need to put on participants? If so, I think you'll have a hard time passing as Scott ;-) If not, then you are welcome to hia spot!

I am doing Half-Century tomorrow, starting at 8:00m, anyone doing the same distance?

    September 21, 2013

  • Pam W.

Kathi, what time were you going, and how far are you going to ride? Still don't think I can make it, won't know until later......

I'd like ti hit the road by 7am - I think I will meet up with Killean by the registration area to say "hi" before taking off. Am planning to do at least the meyric though may go further if the route is conducive to making last minute decisions as to length.

My friend and I plan on doing the leisurely route--25 miles--and we'll probably start at 9.

    September 21, 2013

  • Killian S.

I am planning on starting the ride at 7, not 6. If any one is interested, is interested in car pooling, I can fit two more bikes on my bike rack.

I'm planning on the metric, not the full century.

    September 18, 2013

  • Kathi T.

I would love to get a century under my belt this year... it's been a looooong time! And a great way to break in my road bike!

    2 · September 3, 2013

    • Larry G

You could always do the full at the Harmon.... And what road bike???? When????

      September 3, 2013

    • Kathi T.

Used road bike - Trek - 3 days after RAGBRAI ended... of course

      1 · September 17, 2013

  • Larry G

As much as I dislike this ride, events beyond my control kept me from doing the full century at the Harmon, so I MIGHT do this ride so I can get a century.... A friend wants to do the 75, so I MIGHT ride to and from the start from home and ride the 75 with her????

    2 · September 17, 2013

  • Pam W.

I would try for the century too if I'm able to ride. Def. nothing less than the metric.......if I ride...WHere is that maybe button?????

    September 3, 2013

    • Larry G

It was my first full century in 2007.... I swore I would never do it again.... I HATED the route!!!! got talked into it again last year and did the 75.... I swore that day IF I ever do this ride again, I would NEVER do more than the metric.... The 100 and 75 mile routes take you through some pretty nasty areas of North Chicago and Waukegan....

I looked at the route last night and was thinking the same thing. Not the best neighborhoods to get a flat!
