• Self-guided easy nature hike at Rodman Preserve

    Rodman Preserve

As we adapt to the realities of COVID-19 and resume our hikes at the Rodman Preserve, we have transitioned from a guided-hike format to a self-guided hike. The gate to the preserve will open at 10:00am and close at 2:00pm for up to four hours of your hiking pleasure. Please note that all visitors must exit the preserve before the 2:00pm closure.

The trail is a lollipop shape: a loop at the end of the out-and back trail. It's an easy hike, a little over a mile, and can take anywhere from about half and hour if time is of the essence, to much longer than that if you're the curious sort. It just depends on how often you stop to enjoy the view, shoot photos, or consult iNaturalist or your bird identification guide. As this is a nature preserve, no dogs, please.

Please observe COVID-19 guidelines: wear a mask and stay at least six feet from those not in your party. Also, wear sturdy shoes and be sure to bring water. See you outside!
