Friday Twilight Racing
Flying Scot sailors interested in going out for low-stress sailing to end the workweek and LPWSA sailors with some experience interested in practicing some FS racing skills. Up to a total of 7 spots are available - If enough are interested, two (2) 3-person teams will sail over to SYC from NOYC. Others who prefer a more relaxed, yet competitive sail will meet at SYC. Please do not RSVP unless you can come as space is very limited by the number of boats and skippers available. First start: 1800 start; multiple races until sundown. Our group will gather and check-in, no later than 5:30 pm in the SYC boat storage yard in time to sail to the starting line. Those sailing from NOYC will gather no later than 5 pm.

What we're about

Join the smallest and spunkiest sailing club on Lake Pontchartrain. Beginning in 2018, our dues are increasing to $75 a year. $25 for under 25. If you are a beginner we can provide information on some of the best sailing instruction New Orleans has to offer. If you are an intermediate, you can gain experience and make new sailing friends on our club boat or through our network of sailing contacts. If you are an experienced sailor, request a check-out sail and become qualified to take out our restored Flying Scot Hull #246, the Femme Fatale!

We are the only sailing group for women that draw members from all the clubs on Lake Pontchartrain, as well as women who are not affiliated with any yacht club. Our membership has steadily grown over the last 12 years and consists of women with all levels of sailing experience - U.S. Sailing - certified Instructor, Race Committee PROs, women skippers/boat owners, men and juniors—anyone who shares our goal: to increase women’s participation in sailing.

For a membership application and more information, please also visit our website at LPWSA.org. Join this MeetUp for reminders about all our events.
